Of course! You teach physics right? That was always too much math for the Buffy brain. I’m more into the nature part of science, like on the Discovery channel, but I won’t hold it against you!

Yeah physics is what I’m best at. Some people find it quite daunting but I help out as much as I can.

I guess I know where to go if I ever have to find out any physics-y stuff then, don’t I?

I will because I think it will benefit a lot of people. And if you get the job be sure to pop by so I can meet you in person.

I think it’s a brilliant idea, especially somebody your age as well. Kids will want to turn to you more because you’ll probably be able to relate to them, especially if your life was hectic during school. Yes, I’ll even put in a good word for you when you apply.

You will? That means a lot actually, thank you. Maybe I’ll be seeing you sometime as a co-worker instead of a tiny little internet picture. Time will tell.

I won’t lie, I skipped school a lot because of it and had a bad reputation anyways. It’s no wonder they didn’t see much in me, my head was elsewhere.

I can see how that would affect your grades then. Have you thought about applying for a counselling job at the school? I think the students could really use somebody to talk to, that isn’t their teacher. Sometimes they might feel a little uncomfortable.

I want to actually, but it’s not a good time. My life is still just as hectic as it was back in high school. But when it all calms down and people stop following me around with cameras I fully intend to. I know how much affect a good counselor can have on a kid. I helped a few kids back in my day, it felt really good. I’ve dedicated my life to helping people really, counseling was a surprise career path but it really worked for me. I’ll go back to it one day if I can.

This is true. You seem like a better teacher than any of the ones I had in high school. They just gave up on me when I got bad grades. There were really only one or two who thought I had any potential at all.

Thank you, that’s a nice thing to say. I just try my best. Some kids just need a little encouragement when it comes to grades.

Yeah, some do. I used to be a counselor in Sunnydale and I sort of found that once their personal lives got all worked out, the grades would shoot right up. If they were really trying that is.

You could always work at one of those “progressive schools” where there are no grades.

I could but if there are no grades then there would be no way to see if students need help on improving.
