[pm] Tried to, yeah. She’s still all wrecked about this though.

Really? I mean— right. Thanks. We’ve dealt with worse, this’ll be a breeze. Giles can sit tight, ‘cuz he’s not goin’ anywhere. And I get that it’s still a thing— I’m not over it either, but I’m game for some synchronized slaying again.

[pm] I actually found out more about this thing. I think killing it is going to require some pretty specialized weapons. Like possibly made entirely out of gold. It’s the Dullahan’s weakness I guess you could say.

And they don’t like being watched. Maybe we could look at it through a mirror or something, like Perseus style.

Yeah, I know. Pretty sure I knew how to use google before you. But I meant someone /else/. Since, you know, no one can do anything for those girls now…

[pm] Well someone else is marked, but if we kill it before it gets a chance to strike it wouldn’t matter. Which is what I’m trying to do. I’ve got a plan Dawn, to stop this before things get worse.

peppy-le-pierce:

Anybody following this? I get witches aren’t real, but this has got to be something extra screwy.

So, does anybody want to clue in the clueless one?

Well, from what I can tell. Those girls are probably the victims of this weird creeper of the night, a headless horseman. If we’re being technical it’s called a Dullahan. It’s this Irish demon thing and it marks its victims with blood.

I don’t mean to frighten you since you’re so new, but really these are the kinds of monsters a slayer has to deal with.

the-better-slayer:

[pm] She didn’t get a wink last night; think she’s pretty freaked. Doubt she wants us fighting this thing either, but there’s no way in hell I’m gonna let this slide. I’ll keep you in the loop if we find something— or Willow will. Whatever.

Didn’t mean to spoil his moment then.

[pm] Willow knows too? That’s good. Did you tell her not to worry, that you and I are gonna handle this? And if we’re going to be fighting a demon together, we’re gonna have to be on speaking terms. You’re the only other person who is as strong and experienced as I am, and therefore one of the only people who I could trust to get this job done with me.

I’m by no means over what you did, but the past is the past. Dawn is alive and there are bigger problems at hand. I’m not gonna let someone I love die because of my own stubbornness.

the-better-slayer replied to your post: [pm] Said something about getting attacked by a Dullahan, and that he thinks he’s gonna die soon. It’s gotta be bull, right?

[pm] That’s what I said. It’s a headless horseman thing— stupid Halloween legend or something. Catching a square with it shouldn’t be too hard.

[pm] So I guess we just have to find out how to kill this beastie and we’ll be all set. I don’t understand why Giles is complacently accepting this when he knows we’re strong enough to defeat it. I mean, we’ve battled so much worse.

[pm] He said he wants to fight it, but yeah, he’s bein’ pretty tame about this. Usually I’d say we can knock it down a peg by taking its head off, but I guess that’s out for this one. Still, thinkin’ sharp objects’ll be a safe bet.

Hey, and Buffy— sorry I had to, you know, play messenger here. He lost me there too.

[pm] Well, Willow can help us find the way to kill it. If she wants to that is. But I think you can agree that it’s best if she doesn’t come along for the actual killage.

I think he was going to tell me in his own time, don’t worry about it Faith.
