[pm] You certainly have a certain tact and amicable way of deflecting unpleasant details. That will serve you well when we meet with this woman. Tell me, how much are you willing to say? I believe, of course, that truth is on our side. But I wish above all to make sure you are comfortable in this for as long as it is possible. I’m aware you are acquainted with William the Bloody. Is there any information you have that could turn his interview to our slightest advantage?

[Pm] I’m willing to say whatever I have to, as long as its true. I think being caught in a lie would only hurt popular opinion of slayers. So I’m glad you’re not thinking we should get all twisty with the truth. As for Spike’s interview, well it doesn’t need much turning to be in our favor really. I’m more worried that other vampires are going to start crying soul if see how much sympathy it gets him.

[pm] I’m afraid the Council’s tactics were much like your: We both preferred to keep the nasty bit about souls out of this mess if at all possible. But recent events aside, the battle seems to be waged on popular opinion. We must first make you as accessible as we can. Highlight your charm, that manner of speech you have, how much you care, and how much you’ve been hurt through it all. You’re already something of a politician, but I will pass on a few aristocratic tricks for holding your tongue.

[pm] Yeah, I guess there really isn’t anything like this that’s happened before. Nothing to base the plan on. Do you really think I’m a politician? I’m sort of flattered!

[pm] I will join you, if you’ll allow it. Regardless, we need to strategize and quickly. William the Bloddy’s spectacular interview has done us few favors.

[Pm] Here’s me allowing your help. You’re smarter than I am, so what’s your plan thingy for the interview? It seems like maybe you and the Watcher’s Council have already been planning this? I think the most help I’m gonna need is not insulting Katia, which will be be much difficult.

[pm] I am sorry to ask you this, and if you wish to decline, I understand. Miss Fairfax and I think it would be best to have someone speak to that Turner woman. You would not have to go alone, we would quite prefer if you had a Watcher with you – Miss Fairfax has already agreed to join you if you agree. How would you feel about it?

[Pm] I knew I’d have to do this at some point or another. Especially since another vampire decided to go on Tv as well! I fully understand why I need to do this, I wont decline. But I would very much like the helpings from Ms Fairfax, I think I’ll get eaten alive if I go out there on my own…

zeppo-with-one-eye replied to your post: [pm] Hey Buff, there’s a new Slayer in town. Australian girl, really sweet, named Salem. I explained the basics about Slayers and vampires, but she needs some help with the training, controlling her strength would be a good place to start. I’m sure her door would agree. And talking to an actual Slayer would help obviously.

[pm] No, no Watcher avoiding. But I figured it’d be better to talk to an actual Slayer about this stuff. I don’t think the door was the only thing she accidentally broke and anyway, who better than to relate with a new Slayer than the Slayer herself?

[pm] You figured right, Watchers don’t really grasp the accidental strength element.  Or the lacking self control, what with them being a generally uptight bunch.  So her name is Salem? Pretty cool name. Are you going to give me any way to contact her?

[pm] I was kind of jonesing for the ‘why’ there, Buff. You never get hangovers and don’t you try to steer clear in general anyways…?

[pm] I’m not intending to make a habit of it.  I think you know as well as I do that life has been really stressful lately.  Does a girl always need a reason to want to go out and loosen up a bit?  I just wanted to be able to relax for a while.
